What is GEO, and why should you care?

You know how SEO helps people find you on Google? GEO does the same thing, but for AI. When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini a question about your space, GEO is what determines whether your brand shows up in the answer — or gets skipped entirely.

The shift is already happening

More and more people are skipping Google and going straight to AI for recommendations. "What's the best tool for X?" "Which company does Y?" If you're not in the data these models pull from, you're invisible to a growing chunk of your audience. It's that simple.

So what is this project?

Awesome GEO is a free, open-source collection of platforms where you can build your AI presence. Think of it as a checklist — directories, profiles, data sources, and tools that help AI models learn about your brand. Every platform here is hand-picked and scored so you know where to spend your time first.

How we score things

Each platform gets evaluated on domain authority, whether links are dofollow, how AI crawlers treat the site, and an overall GEO score. We update the list weekly, and everything is open on GitHub — you can browse it here or grab the raw data.
